
Born in 1980 in Varanasi, U. P., INDIA
Phaneendra Nath Chaturvedi is a visual artist currently at the forefront of contemporary art in India. He did his B.F.A. & M.F.A. in painting from the College of Arts & Crafts, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lucknow. His first solo show in 2003 at the Lalit Kala Akademi in Lucknow, which was graced in surprise by Indian Modern Master M.F. Husain, created his odyssey of reframing his idea of the human in a modern world filled with different priorities and preferences. Amongst his solo showings, his most important have been in 2007 at the Mint Gallery New Delhi, an immersive solo show in 2012 entitled An Anthropomorphic Incarnation, at the Karin Weber Gallery, Hong Kong as well as a historical unveiling at the Bruno Art Gallery, Singapore that ran for a month in 2023 and had Singapore’s most important collectors adding his works to their collections. His work has been extensively showcased in various national and international exhibitions, as at Fondazione Querini Stampalia, Venice; Keumsan Gallery, Heyri Art Valley, Seoul; Hangaram Art Museum, Seoul; The Modern & Contemporary Art, Dallas; The Asian, American and European Modern & Contemporary Art, New York; India Art Fair, New Delhi and others. A short film by Mr. Vinod Bhardwaj in 2012, “The Metamorphosis, the Art of Phaneendra Nath Chaturvedi”, has been featured in several national and international art film festivals. He has received 6 awards.
